Letter of intention

Dear The Animation Workshop

My name is Bjørn Højlund Rasmussen, I am 21 years old and I want to be a CG-artist.

I like to tell stories with my drawings and I have always wanted to combine a job and a hobby. A couple of years back I was at a summer-camp called Game Development Camp where they taught you how to develop computer games. I was in the art track of this course. That course made me realize a new way of telling stories; stories where the audience themselves were the main character - games. I thought to myself: “I want to be able to make this, I want to do graphics for games.”  And now I teach the 2D-line at Game Development Camp for the third year in a row.

I have come to love the atmosphere here at the Animation Workshop. I have had a spot in the Open Workshop a couple of times, I have helped arranging the Impro Workshop for the past 2 years, and attended the Media School course. I have also taken the TDA course, after which I sought some scholarships and attended the 3Dpro Course. It was truly a great experience and I felt like I developed more than I ever had before. I wanted more. So when I heard what the 3Dpro Course offered, basically was the same as the CG-artist bachelor programme I was even more convinced that this was the education for me. This is the third time I apply for the bachelor programme.

I have recently come back from a 2 month journey to Nepal. Together with five other Danish volunteers we were stationed in three small villages in the jungle, near the Indian border. Here we taught the children English, painted their school, and thought the teachers as well. This journey was one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life; it inspired me and made me look at my ordinary life in a whole new perspective.

I am convinced that your CG-artist line is just the right thing for me and I hope you will give me the opportunity to prove it.

Sincerely

Bjørn Højlund Rasmussen
